Designed for customized indoor staircase projects, the JOV-0832 transforms individually wired stair lights into a responsive lighting sequence that follows the direction of movement. Instead of turning every stair light on at once, each step can illuminate progressively to create a smooth cascading effect from the bottom up or from the top down.

At the center of the system is a 32-channel smart stair lighting controller paired with two PIR motion sensors, an RF remote, and mobile APP control. Whether you want automatic nighttime illumination, a continuous always-on effect, or detailed control of brightness and animation timing, the JOV-0832 gives you several ways to configure the staircase around your space.

Lighting That Responds to the Way You Move

Place one PIR sensor at each end of the staircase.

When someone enters from the bottom, the controller can illuminate the stairs progressively upward. When movement is detected from the upper landing, the lighting sequence travels downward.

After you leave the staircase, the lights remain illuminated for the selected delay period and then automatically return to standby.

The result is lighting that feels integrated into the staircase rather than simply switched on and off.

Up to 32 Individually Controlled Steps

The JOV-0832 provides 32 independent stair-lighting channels, allowing each step to be wired separately to the controller.

This gives the system precise control over the order and timing of illumination and makes it suitable for a broad range of staircase sizes.

Three Ways to Control Your Staircase

1. Automatic PIR Motion Detection

Dual PIR sensors provide independent detection at the upper and lower ends of the staircase.

The JOV-0832 uses the triggering sensor to determine the direction of the lighting sequence, giving you automatic illumination without having to reach for a wall switch.

2. iStar Lighting APP

For detailed configuration, connect the controller to the iStar Lighting APP.

From your phone, you can configure stair quantity, brightness, transition speed, delay time and supported lighting effects.

The APP also provides additional functions including scheduled operation and configuration of compatible pixel lighting.

3. RF Remote Control

The included RF remote gives you fast access to everyday controls without opening your phone.

Adjustable Brightness

The JOV-0832 allows the stair-light brightness to be adjusted from approximately 1% to 100% through the APP, helping you create comfortable illumination for the surrounding environment.

Adjustable Running Speed

Control how quickly the lighting sequence moves from one stair to the next.

Choose a faster transition for a responsive, energetic cascade or reduce the speed for a more relaxed architectural lighting effect.

Adjustable Delay Time

The lights do not need to turn off immediately after the staircase has been triggered.

Set the desired delay so the entire staircase remains illuminated long enough for users to comfortably complete their journey before the system returns to motion-sensor standby.

Scheduled Stair Lighting

The APP provides scheduling functionality for installations where automatic operation is only required during certain periods.

For example, you can configure the system to operate during evening and overnight hours while using different lighting behavior during the daytime.

Supported APP functionality also includes Slow Start and Slow End settings for a softer transition into and out of scheduled operation.

Important Installation Information

The JOV-0832 is designed for indoor installation in a dry location.

Disconnect power before connecting or changing wiring. Always maintain correct positive and negative polarity when connecting stair lights and power.

Select the DC12–24V power supply according to the voltage and total wattage of the LED lighting used in your staircase project.

Each stair-light channel should be connected to its corresponding numbered controller output.
